WP5 delivers the technological backbone of SYNTHIA—an advanced federated infrastructure that empowers developers to work with real data (RD) across multiple clinical sites, while preserving data privacy and complying with EU regulations. It connects the standardised data from WP4 to the synthetic data generation (SDG) workflows in WP6, enabling secure access, training, and validation of AI models across harmonised datasets. This infrastructure supports federated learning, privacy-preserving mechanisms, and aggregation tools to streamline the development of synthetic data.

WP5 also builds SYNTHIA’s metadata catalogue and discovery tools, which allow users to locate, understand, and request access to relevant datasets and generation methods. This enhances the FAIRness—Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable—of both the data and SDG tools, ensuring long-term usability and traceability. Through agile collaboration with technical and clinical partners, WP5 ensures that all tools are user-friendly, secure, and ready to support real-life applications of synthetic health data.
