Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and regulatory engagement are essential components of the SYNTHIA project, as it ensures that innovations in synthetic data are not only scientifically and technically sound but also meet the real-world requirements of healthcare decision-makers.

On 24 November 2025, the SYNTHIA consortium will hold its second online HTA and Regulatory Advisory Group Meeting, bringing together experts from across the project and advisory partners to discuss key aspects of synthetic data use in healthcare.

This internal meeting will focus on advancing the regulatory and health technology assessment (HTA) understanding of synthetic data and its applications. Discussions will include:

  • Presentations of synthetic data healthcare applications
  • SDG metrics and their evaluation
  • How frameworks and metrics can be applied in HTA and regulatory contexts
  • Use case discussions to explore practical implementation
  • The role of external control arms in supporting regulatory and HTA assessments

Through this exchange, SYNTHIA continues to strengthen the scientific and regulatory foundations needed to ensure synthetic data can be trusted, assessed, and applied in real-world healthcare innovation.

This meeting is by invitation only.
