SYNTHIA will take part in the 6th Amunt Contra el Càncer Conference, “Cancer, Research and Society,” taking place on 15 November in Dénia, Alicante, Spain. The conference is organised by the Spanish patient association Amunt contra el Càncer.
SYNTHIA partner Adrián Galiana Bordera, from Health Research Institute Hospital La Fe, will speak in the panel “Oncological Research and Artificial Intelligence” at 9:00 AM.
Adrián’s presentation focuses on creating artificial intelligence within hospitals and will introduce SYNTHIA in this context, showcasing how synthetic data can enable innovation while protecting patient privacy.

Organised by the Spanish patient association 'Amunt Contra el Càncer', the conference brings together hospitals, researchers, companies, and associations committed to advancing cancer research from a global, human, and locally rooted perspective. Supported by Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe, Hospital General Universitari de València, INCLIVA Health Research Institute, HCB Hospitals, Fundació Baleària, and Telodigo Comunicación, it serves as a bridge between science and society, fostering understanding, dialogue, and hope.

Patient Communication
Presenting at an event organised by a patient association also underlines the importance of engaging directly with patients and their families. As one of SYNTHIA’s key stakeholder groups, patients play a central role in shaping how synthetic data technologies are developed and used. Part of SYNTHIA work is engaging with patients and citizens to understand their concerns and expectations, ensuring transparency and public trust in the adoption of synthetic data technologies in health. In additiona, explaining what synthetic data is, and how it can safely advance research while protecting personal information, is key to building trust and ensuring that innovation in AI and healthcare truly serves people.
